Every year seems to go by quicker than the last, and the holiday season always creates a mad rush towards the end of it. This is why you want to slow down and reflect because it helps you see how much you’ve changed, grown, and transformed throughout the year.

These end-of-year journaling prompts will help you look back, realign with who you are, and prepare you for what you want to be in the new year ahead.

Why End Of Year Journaling Matters.

It’s important to reflect on a regular basis, but I know that life can make it hard to do, which is why I recommend a self-reflection exercise at least once at the end of each year.

This matters because I remember feeling lost at one point in my life. I had to go on a soul searching journey to find myself again.

It helped me find my purpose in life and I learned that self-reflection can help you do this, even if it’s just a few minutes a day.

When you’re aware of what’s going on inside of and around you, life can feel much more meaningful.

Journaling doesn’t solve all of the problems in your life, but it gives you a compass to follow. It helps create a life that feels more self-aware by allowing you to become acquainted with your thoughts, feelings, and behavior.

You feel less like an empty vessel that is going through the motions and more like someone who has a purpose and knows what truly matters to them.

End-of-year reflection is more than remembering what happened to you on a daily basis, it’s understanding how your actions have shaped you over the course of a year and how you want to move forward.

How To Prepare For Your End-of-Year Journaling Session.

You don’t need any special equipment like candles, tea, expensive notebooks, or fancy pens. Although if you have those, great. All you need for your end-of-year journaling session are empty pages, or a notebook, and a pen.

I recommend finding a place that’s quiet, and a time where you won’t have any distractions, as much as possible. It helps you stay focused so you can hear your inner voice clearly and authentically.

You should also answer each journal prompt without thinking or judging yourself. Honesty is the best policy when it comes to answering these journal prompts, so always go with your first response.
